What moves the price
- Is there already a pit? Replacing a pump in an existing basin is the cheap end. Cutting a new pit in the floor and running a discharge line is most of the labor cost.
- Pump type. Submersible pumps sit in the pit and run quieter; pedestal pumps sit above it and are easier to service.
- Backup power. A battery backup keeps the pump running when storms knock out power, which is often exactly when you need it.
